Kellog's Breakfast for Reid

This beautiful tomato is a Kellog's Breakfast heirloom variety, planted and cared for by my friend Reid Powell in our "sharecropper" plot in the front yard.  Reid gave his blood, sweat, and tears for these beauties...and then moved to Houston before they ripened.  Well, Reid, here's what they look like now.  I counted 11 of them on one single plant this morning.  We can't wait to enjoy them, and wish you could be here to join us!  We'll save some seeds for next year, for sure.  Of our 8 varieties of tomatoes, this may be the prettiest.
Thanks, Reid!  We miss you!

And my apologies to you all for how long it's been since my last post.  Good grief, summer is BUSY for farmers!

  1. Wow! They turned out just like I'd hoped. Now I just need you to ship it to me. ;) We miss you guys so much. We just got the first rain we've had in about three weeks. How's everything in WF? Also, we need to Skype soon.

  2. That's a really funny name for a tomato. Vegetables and Kellog's Breakfast just don't seem to go together.
